Committee

To help SHWI run smoothly (most of the time!) we have a dedicated committee. So, who is who? Read on and find out...

President - Laura Bainbridge-Hattersley
Laura lives in Woodseats with her SO and four cats. Originally from Wakefield, she came to Sheffield in 2001 to study media and photography and never moved back! A self-confessed geek for film, games, beer and old recipe books, Laura is obsessed with food; if she's not eating or cooking it's probably because she's too busy talking about it.
Laura leads the group, oversees the work of the committee and represents Seven Hills WI both within and outside the group.

Vice-President - Rachel White
Rachel lives in Greystones with her husband Nick and labrador Sam; native of Doncaster, Rachel moved to Sheffield in 2001. She works as the Head of HR for a local construction and property development company. Rachel loves crocheting, gin, cycling, ice hockey and spending time in the Peak District.

Secretary - Bex Lissaman
Bex is a tea lover who lives with her daughter, Evelyn-Beatrix, and her two cats, Samuel and Lucy, in her girlie pad in Woodseats. She’s a Government Policy Advisor and used to work in the Caribbean (which might explain why she is always cold!).

She is a self-confessed workaholic with a passion for Second World War social history. When she’s not running around after Evie-Bea, Bex enjoys gardening, cooking, eating out and crochet (in front of a Studio Ghibli film or an episode of Friends). As a member of CAMRA (the campaign for real ale) Bex loves a good beer festival, something she enjoys both with her SHWI buddies and her SO Richard.

Treasurer - Charlotte Wright
Charlotte has been a member of Seven Hills since 2014. She recently moved to Hathersage with her husband and can usually be found hiking in the hills or swimming in the lido. She enjoys travelling, craft beer, cooking and has recently taken up crochet - after being taught by her fellow knowledgeable W.I. members!

Membership Data Analyst - Sarah Willoughby
Sarah lives in Sheffield with her husband Chris and cat, Tickover. She enjoys live concerts, cinema, reading and cookery. She is a keen fundraiser for a number of different charities and enjoys (!) long distance walking events.

Fundraising and Events - Karin Säfwenberg-Barnes
Karin moved to Sheffield 5 years ago after 9 years in London. She is not a hopeless romantic, however did move north to be with (then boyfriend, now husband) Simon. They live in Totley with stepdaughter Lilly who is 10. When she’s not busy supporting a very large and manic technology sales team Karin likes to spend time with her friends and family. She loves making bread and buns, travelling, food and music.

Fundraising and Events - Grace Escott-Tebbutt
Grace works at a rail museum and loves history (especially the Tudors). She also runs and enjoys getting muddy in cross country races. In order to feed this hobby, she is a prolific eater of all things but enjoys cooking wholesome meals for her friends and husband. Her favourite things to do are drink (prosecco or whiskey) and cuddle her cat.

Fundraising and Events - Vicky Porteous-Medley
Vicky has been a member since SHWI was founded in 2009, and lives in north Sheffield with her husband Gareth and son George. She works as a research scientist. She loves knitting, Japanese and Thai food (amongst many others), cooking, Thai boxing and Sci-Fi. She hates spiders, bananas and most cheese.

Fundraising and Events - Jodie Winters
Jodie is a recent resident to Meersbrook where she spends her time walking her mad dog Loki in the gorgeous countryside around Sheffield, messing about with properties, camping, crafting with all sorts and enjoying a good meal and a pint.

Communications Co-Ordinator - Laura Rangeley

Lucky enough to work in the industry that also forms her biggest hobby, Laura is the Office Manager of a local brewery and is also a beer and food blogger. A Sheffielder through and through, she now lives in Heeley with her husband and bordering on internet-famous cat. She is also a fan of tea, gin and dinosaurs.

Meeting Host - Ella Morton
Ella lives in Handsworth with her guinea pig Jupiter. She works as a Biorepository Technician at Sheffield Medical School and in her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, running (a new found hobby thanks to SHWI runners) and anything guinea pig related. Ella rates SHWI as the best thing
she ever blindly followed her best friend into.

Meeting Host - Emma Russell
Born at a very young age in Oxford and moved to Sheffield in my early years, Emma is proud to call the city her home with her 3 fast growing teenage boys. She currently works as an accountant but on her way to successfully managing Sheffield's first household zoo, with a population of animals from dogs to cats, tortoises to chickens. As well as being an animal lover, she enjoys crochet, spending time with family and friends and going to SHWI.

Meeting Host - Di Coupe
Di is a born and bred Sheffielder who loves real ale, gin, going for brunch and baking THE SHWI pie. She currently works for a charity as a Client Relationship Officer.
Di lives with her 2 favourite boys in their on-going project house. Her hobbies include extreme metal gigs, festivals, exploring Sheffield's evolving food scene, collecting taxidermy and hiking.

Di confesses to have awful taste in films, her long time fave is Big Trouble in Little China (one day it will be a classic!). She been a member for 8 years and only won the raffle twice (must try harder).

Meeting Host - Cat Langran
Cat is a true ambassador for Seven Hills, and can usually be found raving about how awesome it is to be part of the WI. A teacher, Cat is always willing to share her knowledge with others, usually craft based. She feels that the WI has given her many fantastic opportunities to try new things and go on adventures (including in her lovely little campervan!) and credits it with bringing many wonderful people into her life.

Programme co-ordinator - Nicola Treby
Nicola lives in Nether Edge with husband Matthew and son Alexander. Originally from Nottinghamshire, she moved to Sheffield in 2010.

Nicola loves travelling, eating out and all cake (except fruit cake!). She is a music obsessive who loves gigs and cider.....often at the same time! An emerging crafter who can just about knit but is not currently brave enough for crochet!

Nicola enjoys spending time with family, friends and going to SHWI.

Programme Coordinator - Victoria Ryves
Victoria joined SHWI in December 2015 when she moved back to Sheffield after spending 2 years living in Canada.

A self confessed history nerd and heritage enthusiast she works in a museum. When not visiting museums Victoria enjoys travelling, sampling new tea, visiting new restaurants and going for long walks with a good view.
